Eye II Eye
You would think that after more than twenty years in the business, a band like the Scorpions would know better than to chase such a stupid fad. I defended them after their last album, Pure Instinct, but I can't help them here. Sampled looping drum tracks never sounded more out of place. This album makes me sad. The guitar tone is fuzzy and washed out and they'd need a tow truck to pick up the pace. The album is just littered with ballads and they even managed to mess up most of those with weird percussion and weak guitars. Throughout the cd you can catch little glimpses of the band we used to know. A vocal melody, a lttle piece of a riff, but then it disappears. They are gone now. --
