Brutal Planet
Alice is at it again. His increasingly more political look at the dispassionate place the world has become is seen vividly through multiple perspectives in this, his latest musical commentary. The songs hold a very heavy edge without losing the catchy and memorable vocal melodies of some of Alice’s earlier work, while the lyrics weave terrible tales made more horrible by their basis in reality. Brutal Planet has managed to achieve a modern feel without any of the gimmicks or production tricks so common in rock today and is some of Alice’s best work in years. --
