Into The Light
Into the Light is a Tim Donahue solo project with Kelly Hansen singing. Tim wrote all of the songs, played all of the instruments, produced the album, and they're marketing him as one of the world's only masters of the fretless guitar. I listened to the cd very closely and this guy can play. Whether he'd sound any better or worse on a fretted guitar, I don't know, but regardless of what he's playing, it sounds great. So too does the vocal work of Kelly Hansen, who manages to bring what otherwise might have become an intricate instrumental work, back to a commercially viable album. So whether the fretless guitar thing is a gimmick or not, I was impressed with what I heard. --
