THE METAL MASTERS SERIES
Another casualty to my aversion to keyboards, this band was a disappointment to me. They had a good singer and a great guitarist and in songs like Carrie or obviously the Final Countdown, the keyboards work, but in songs like Rock the Night, Cherokee or Heart of Stone, I couldn't help but feel that the keyboards were just in the way. Selling over six and a half million copies though, you simply can't ignore the effects that this sort of success has on the genre. Like others in this series, the three live tracks add little to the value of the album, but the digital remastering makes this the version to pick up if you didn't already own a copy. --
