THE METAL MASTERS SERIES
Balls to the Wall is a classic album from the thundering title track to the quiet closing of Winterdeams. The band didn’t find much success here in the states though, largely because of their lead singer Udo. Germany’s version of Bon Scott, the small camouflage clad frontman screeched his way into the hearts of some of the heavy metal audience, but didn’t have the crossover appeal to break into the mainstream American audience. The two bonus live tracks don’t add much to the album, but the digital mastering should make this an essential purchase particularly to those of you that hadn’t already bought this album on cd. --
