Bounce
Bon Jovi finally did what I’ve been begging them to do. They found the distortion pedal for Richie’s guitar. Suddenly, with a single click, a strum becomes a power chord again. A pop song becomes a rock song again. It was an easy fix and it’s been there all along, but they finally took it and it just gives their songs the kick in the ass that they’ve been missing. It’s not every song. There are 12 on the cd and 4 or 5 of them have a great crunch, but it’s still Bon Jovi. It’s rock not metal, and with it comes the ususal dose of ballads, and their “slice of life” songs. It’s Bon Jovi doing what they do best and finally doing it just a little bit heavier. Like they used to… And I think it’s probably Bon Jovi’s best cd since New Jersey. --
