After 18 years, Kick Axe finally released their fourth cd. The line-up is the same as their last couple cds, except for the singer. Gary Langen was the band’s original vocalist, but never recorded an album with them. Langen’s power, range and sometimes uncanny Sting impersonations make him a welcome addition. Musically, the cd is very tight and well played, but the production is over polished in places, softening some of what could have been heavier moments. The cd has 14 tracks, but could have benefited from being edited down to ten or eleven. Otherwise, this is a really solid Damn Yankees style Rock cd. Great for Kick Axe fans, or just fans of 80’s style rock. --Scott
