The Neon God
Part 2 - The Demise
This is Blackie’s best work since The Crimson Idol. It’s better than
Part 1
of the Neon God, because he’s pulling out some new tricks this time. Part 2 has the same sound to be sure, but it comes with new twists and turns unique to this album. Not the least of which is a bone-chilling scream that he rips out a few times at the end of track one; definitely one of the cd highpoints for me. Blackie continues deliver some of the most heart-wrenching, anguished vocal performances in rock. You can feel his pain when he sings and I don’t think anybody pairs mood and music better than Lawless. The Neon God, Parts 1 and 2 together, are really an amazing emotional story that Blackie has balanced perfectly with melody and music. Get these. --
