Lipservice

I had heard that this was going to be their heaviest cd so admittedly, I was probably expecting too much, and therefore, initially I was a little disappointed … but that didn’t last long. The problem with this cd, is that there are too many songs. When you hype a record as a heavy record, but you have to slow it down every two or three tracks, just to squeeze in all your ballads, it might mean you wrote too many ballads, but it definitely makes the record as a whole, seem not so heavy. But Gotthard is one of those rare bands, that just write good songs. It might not always be innovative or new, but it’s always good. And this cd is all good. * The digi-pack version has Can’t Stop as a bonus track, which as it turns out is one of the best songs on the cd. --Scott
