Invasion
One of the most underrated albums of the mid-eighties, this cd is chock full of great guitar riffs and catchy melodies. Unfortunately, the music is usually overshadowed by the more abundant, more memorable and (to many) the more annoying guitar solos. Everybody seems to remember Vinnie Vincent as a hot pink shredder who was all about speed. And he was, but he also wrote some great songs. Piercing vocals? Yes. Blistering solos? Undoubtedly. But the songs are solid and that’s what counts. For the record, I also believe that this guy was a better singer than Mark, but Slaughter had better hair and a better image. If you passed this one up before, give it another chance. --
